Why Creative Development and Teambuilding?

It is well known nowadays how beneficial 'creative engagment' is. It is both mentally and physically theraputic, relaxing and stress relieving, encourages imagination and innovation allowing for greater individuality and expression through workplace wellness.

It also allows us to visualise more clearly our positive thoughts. This is a very powerful tool in all areas of our lives aiding our personal development which in turns feeds our professional development. It enhances our ability to see, believe and achieve our goals.

Simply put Creative Thinking is essential to sucess in any area of life be that personal or business. However on it's own it's not sufficient...to be truly useful and possibly revolutionary it must be combined with structure, logic and critical anaylsis. Our society has a habit of placing us in boxes of either left or right brain thinkers, separating us as creative or logical people. While it is true to say that while we may well be predisposed to predominence in one of these does not in any way prevent us from developing the other.

It is also true to say that our society is predominately geared towards development and education in left brain activities, particularly in adults thus leaving us exposed and weak in the confidence and belief of our creative abilities. But happily this is something we can change, and change quite easily with practise and as we all know practise can soon become habit. Imagine what we can achieve with both our left and right brain functions working in unison. This is called whole brain thinking.

The visual arts are an extraordinarily rich resource for creative development and training....and not just for artists. Concepts, idea development, innovation, process, and actualisation....these have to be thought through and actioned every time an artist sits in front of a canvas, wheather just starting or already almost complete. Daydreaming, imagining, doodling, playing , exploring, experimenting, making mistakes and learning from them are all integral to creative development, building confidence and trust in our own and others abilities to look beyond the immediate and obvious.

"As well as now having a better team environment, we have a piece of art that represents where we have come from and where we are going. We would recommend this team building day to other organisations."

It is also a lot of fun allowing our inner child to be set free and diminishing the voice of our inner critic....it has a wonderful feel good factor.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.” Albert Einstein.
